Wiens Brewing Company was born in the family kitchen in 1995 when Pete and Ben Wiens made a batch of beer from a homebrew kit. They were hooked! Pete and Ben soon moved their operation to the backyard and began experimenting with different styles of yeast and most importantly hops.
The love of brewing led Pete to UC Davis where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Fermentation Science. After a short stint in the wine business, Pete spent twelve years working in all areas of production for a major brewer in three different facilities. All the while, Pete and Ben continued to collaborate as homebrewers, experimenting with yeast and hops in a quest for all things bitter.
In 2012 the dream finally became a reality with the opening of Wiens Brewing Company!
